Introduction

In April 2022, at the age of 59, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I was devastated. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was worried about my future. But I was determined to fight, and I knew that I had to stay positive.

My story began on the night before my scheduled colonoscopy. I was vomiting the night and was rushed to the hospital. There, they diagnosed that I had colorectal cancer. But, to deal with the immediate issue of blockage, they did a colostomy.

After the colostomy, I had radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I trusted my doctors and their expertise, but I also felt a deep intuition that there was more to healing than conventional medicine could offer.

I began to explore holistic healing practices, such as meditation, herbal tea, energy healing, and listening to healing frequencies. I also made significant changes to my diet and lifestyle. I started eating more whole-food, plant-based diet and reduced processed foods, sugar, and caffeine. I also made sure to get enough sleep and exercise regularly.

I wrote my book with the hope that by sharing my story, I can help anyone who is going through a similar experience or know someone who is going through it.

Colorectal Cancer Mortality Rate in Singapore

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Singapore, after lung cancer. The age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) for colorectal cancer in Singapore was 93.3 per 100,000 population in 2016-2020. This means that out of every 100,000 people in Singapore, 93.3 people die from colorectal cancer each year. (sources: Singapore Cancer Registry Annual Report 2020 and Ministry of Health, Singapore)

There are a number of factors that can increase the risk of developing colorectal cancer, including:

  • Age (over 50)
  • Family history of colorectal cancer
  • Personal history of inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease)
  • Smoking

Early detection is important for colorectal cancer because it allows for treatment to begin before the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Colorectal cancer that is detected and treated early is highly curable, with a 5-year survival rate of over 90%.

However, colorectal cancer is often asymptomatic in the early stages, meaning that people may not experience any symptoms until the cancer has grown or spread. This is why regular screening is so important.

Screening tests for colorectal cancer can detect precancerous polyps, which are abnormal growths on the colon or rectum. These polyps can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening tests can also detect colorectal cancer in its early stages, when it is most treatable.

There are a number of different screening tests available for colorectal cancer, including:

  • Stool tests: These tests look for hidden blood in the stool, which can be a sign of colorectal cancer.
  • Colonoscopy: This test involves inserting a thin, flexible tube with a camera on the end into the rectum and colon. The doctor can then look for polyps or cancer.
  • Sigmoidoscopy: This test is similar to a colonoscopy, but it only examines the lower part of the colon.

The best screening test for you will depend on your age, risk factors, and personal preferences. Talk to your doctor about which screening test is right for you.

Early detection of colorectal cancer can save lives. If you are over the age of 50, or if you have a family history of colorectal cancer, talk to your doctor about regular screening.

Overcoming the Odds

When I was first diagnosed with colorectal cancer, I was terrified. I thought about my family and friends, and I wondered what the future held. I also wondered if I was strong enough to get through this.

But I was determined to fight. I knew that I had to stay positive for myself and for my loved ones. I also knew that I had to trust my doctors and their expertise.

The treatment was tough, but I got through it with the support of my family and friends. I also learned to rely on my own inner strength and resilience. I discovered that I was stronger than I thought I was.

I also learned a lot about myself during my cancer journey. I learned that I am capable of great things. I learned that I have a deep inner strength and resilience. And I learned that I am not alone.

I faced many challenges during my holistic healing journey from cancer. I wrote about them in detail in my book. If you like to know more about the challenges and how I overcame them, click on the Buy Now at Amazon button below.

Discovering Holistic Healing

During my cancer treatment, I began to explore holistic healing practices. I had always been interested in holistic healing, but I had never had the time or energy to pursue it seriously. Now, with my health on the line, I was determined to find a way to heal my body and mind naturally.

I started with deep breathing exercises. I knew that deep breathing could help to reduce stress and anxiety, and I needed all the help I could get in that area. I also started meditating again. I had been a regular meditator when I was younger, but I had fallen out of the practice for many years. Now, I was able to pick up where I left off and start meditating for 30 minutes each day.

I also started saying affirmations to help me think positively. Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat to yourself on a regular basis. I would say affirmations such as “I am healthy” and “I am strong.”

In addition to deep breathing exercises, meditation, and affirmations, I also started drinking herbal tea. Herbal tea is a great way to boost your immune system and promote overall health. I drank a variety of herbal teas, including ginger tea, chamomile tea, and green tea.

I also made significant changes to my diet and lifestyle. I started eating a more whole-food, plant-based diet and reducing processed foods, sugar, and caffeine. I also made sure to get enough sleep and exercise regularly.

Finally, I also started practicing energy healing. Energy healing is a holistic healing practice that involves channeling energy to heal the body, mind, and spirit. I practiced Flowing Love Meditation and brought in Divine Love energy to heal me.

Healing and Transformation

Holistic healing was not a quick fix, but it was a lifeline. It helped me to manage the side effects of treatment, boost my immune system, and cultivate a deep sense of inner peace. It also helped me to connect with my body and my spirit in a way that I never had before.

I am now cancer-free, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story with others. I hope that my story will inspire others to explore holistic healing and to find their own path to healing and transformation.

My cancer journey has been a challenging one, but it has also been a transformational experience. I have learned a lot about myself and my strength. I have also discovered the power of holistic healing.

If you are facing a cancer diagnosis, or if you are simply looking for a way to improve your health and well-being, I encourage you to explore holistic healing. There are many different practices to choose from, so you can find something that works for you.

I would also like to add that holistic healing is not just for people with cancer. It is a way of life that can benefit everyone. Holistic healing is about taking care of your whole self – your body, mind, and spirit. It is about finding balance in your life and living in harmony with nature.

If you are looking for a way to improve your health and well-being, I encourage you to explore holistic healing. There are many different practices to choose from, so you can find something that works for you.

Here are a few tips for getting started with holistic healing:

  • Talk to your doctor. It is important to let your doctor know about any holistic healing practices that you are considering. They can advise you on whether these practices are safe and appropriate for you.
  • Do your research. There is a wealth of information available online and in books about holistic healing. Take some time to learn about different practices and find ones that are of interest to you.
  • Find a qualified practitioner. If you are considering trying a specific holistic healing practice, such as acupuncture or massage therapy, be sure to find a qualified practitioner. You can ask your doctor for recommendations or search for practitioners online or in your local community.
  • Start slowly. Don’t try to do too much too soon. It is important to start slowly and gradually incorporate holistic healing practices into your life.

I hope that my story has inspired you to explore holistic healing. Remember, you are not alone. There are many people who have overcome cancer and other challenges with the help of holistic healing.
