About UCD Singapore Alumni Network Event

The Business Alumni Relations Team of UCD returns to Singapore for an evening of learning, discussion and networking. It is an evening network and mingle with fellow alumni and friends in Singapore in a relaxing atmosphere.

The highlight of the event was the Alumni Panel of Experts who shared their insights, experiences and expertise on the topic of ‘Top Trends for 2018’. The event was hosted by Patrick Blaney, the Chairman Aviation Leasing, Finance and Law, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

In view of the topic, Timotheus shared the digital marketing trends he predicted to happen in 2018. Some of which were that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) will encompass all other digital marketing strategies, AI (Artificial Intelligence) will get faster and cheaper, and in effect will be very effective when analyzing Big Data.

Also, companies that are able to catch micro moments of consumers will win big. Plus, after the success of Pokemon, companies are going to find really creative ways to use Augmented Reality to promote their products. He mentioned a few more trends, too.

The Lunch and Learn is a regular event at The Great Room, One George Street. The concept was to invite interested parties to attend a talk where delicious lunch was provided. In a casual environment, the attendees can learn from the experts while enjoying a good meal.

Manni, the CEO of Coleegs, co-organized this particular event to introduce Coleegs and the talented specialists at the company. In view of that, together with Timotheus and Christian, they designed a one-hour quick-paced introduction to the basics of digital marketing, social marketing and content marketing.

CEO Signature Event is a series of talks and workshops created by Venture Platform. The purpose is to support SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in Singapore.

Back in 2015, most businesses in Singapore did not have a clear and full understanding about Digital Marketing. Venture Platform recognized this fact among their members. Many were asking for a seminar to enlighten them on online marketing and how they can apply it to promote their businesses.

Back then I was still the CEO of OOJO. Venture Platform approached one of the partners in the agency, and asked me to deliver a talk about the topic. I had recently completed a seminar at SME Centre @ SICCI. When Venture Platform heard about the seminar and the information shared there, they were keen to have the same presentation for their members.

After everything was arranged, the event was held with much success. Many attendees came forward to chat with me, and to find out more about digital marketing.
