A Busy Week, But I Made Time for What Matters
Introduction
It’s a sunny day in Singapore, and I’m feeling grateful for the good health that I have.
Last Monday, I had blood tests done at the cancer clinic, and my cancer markers were low (less than 1.8).
This meant that my cancer was still in remission, which was great news.

I always get tired after a medical appointment, so the next day, I tried to take it easy and planned not to do much work.
I spent the day checking my web pages and making sure all the links were working correctly. It was then that I realized that I had changed the theme of my website, and the layout that used to work for the previous theme looked a little off on the new theme.
So, I asked the wonderful online community for their suggestions. I received many good responses, and I decided to go with one particular layout that was popular in the replies.
This meant that I spent the next few days adjusting the layout for all my hundreds of web pages. It was a lot of work, but I believe it was worth it to give visitors a better user experience.
By last Wednesday, I had not written any new material for the book that I was working on. I was also exhausted and felt a bit of mind fatigue.
Still, I forced myself to continue writing my book. I had been feeling uninspired, but once I started writing, the words started to flow. I wrote a few chapters and have reached page 139.

On Thursday, I felt more tired. Fortunately, I had a lunch date with a dear old friend. It would be a refreshing respite from all the work.
We went to have a dim sum lunch. We caught up on each other’s lives and enjoyed some delicious food.

After lunch, we went shopping and then had coffee and cake. By the end of the day, I was exhausted!

The past few days were a whirlwind of activity, but I’m glad that I was able to make time for what matters. I spent time with my friend, made progress on my book, and took care of my health.
I hope you all had a great week too! And remember, it’s important to take time off even when you’re busy. It will help you stay refreshed and motivated.
Here are some tips for taking time off even when you’re busy:
- Set aside specific times for rest and relaxation.
- Don’t check your work email or social media during your time off.
- Do something you enjoy, such as reading, spending time in nature, or taking a nap.
- Ask for help from others if you need it.
