Thomas Edison was most well known for the invention of the electric light bulb. As an American inventor and businessman, he did much more than that. He developed devices such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and motion pictures.
Among his many motivational quotes, this one is my favorite.

We Learn From Our Failures
Although, Thomas Edison said he has not failed, in actual fact he did. It was just that he chose not to see them as failures.
He chose to see the failures as lessons. In his case, the lessons were that the 10,000 previous attempts were not successful. And, all those attempts were valuable.
They actually helped him to know what did not work. As such, he could try another way to make his inventions work.
Every time he found a way that did not work, he simply tried another method. And as he continued in this style of working, he eventually found one that worked. And that was how he became a successful inventor.
Never Give Up
A key to Thomas Edison’s method we have just discussed is that he never gave up. When he tried to make something work, and it did not, he did not give up.
Instead, he chose to find another way to make his invention work. And that is the valuable lesson he imparts here with this motivational quote.
Similarly, in your attempts at business, you must not give up so easily. Keep trying, and you will succeed. I am speaking from experience
