I love coffee. The lovely aroma. The intoxicating taste. Part of the fun of drinking coffee is to try and taste the wide variety of brands and flavors. As such, when I heard of Organo Gold, I was intrigued.

In this article – Organo Gold Review – Scam or Legit?, I share what I have found out about this brand and its products. Also, I discovered that they offer business opportunity, too.

Organo Gold is a global network marketing company. It was launched in 2008 in Richmond, British Columbia. They state this clearly on their website. The business sells beverages, nutraceuticals and personal care products.

The unique selling point of their products is the claim that most of the products are enriched with Ganoderma Lucidum, a specific type of mushroom extract.

Organo Gold was founded by Bernie Chua.

Before starting this company, he was a businessman and network marketing executive.

He came up with the idea to add Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom to coffee. And the business, entered around this idea, grew from there.

As I just mentioned, the pricing and packages will definitely change as the company adjusts and adapts to changes in the economy and environment. As such, I will not mention about the pricing and packages in detail.

As you will see, in the Products section below, that they have a good range of products. Each of them has its individual cost. You can visit their website to find out each item’s pricing there.

One thing to remember is that this is a network marketing company. As with all MLM companies, when you join them as a distributor, they will have packages at various prices for you.

It is not obvious on their website what are the packages and pricing for distributors. But I did find on one website where it was mentioned that there are these:

• Bronze Pack at $199
• Silver Pack at $499
• Gold Pack at $1,299

As for what are in these packs, it was not revealed. I am sure if you are interested to join, you can ask them, and they will tell you.

There is a refund or return a product policy.

It is best you visit the legal page of their website to read the terms and conditions carefully.

The products could be for people who are like to drink beverages like coffee that has Ganoderma Lucidum. Also, nutraceuticals and personal care products, too.

At the same time, the company is a networking marketing company. So, anyone who is looking to make money in this industry can consider this option.

Practically anyone can join Organo Gold, provided it is offered and legal in your country to use the products. You will need a budget to buy their products. If you plan to join the MLM, then you will need more money to start with.

I will not go into the details of how much money you will need.

The reason is that the product pricing and criteria to join may change.

Here, I share what I see now, as of date of publishing this review, on their website.

Organo Gold attained fame from their coffee. And over time they have expanded the range of beverages, as follows:

• Black Coffee
• King of Coffee
• Cafe Latte
• Cafe Mocha
• Cafe Supreme
• Hot Cocoa
• Green Tea
• Red Tea

Earlier, it was mentioned that the founder, Bernie, made their coffee different by adding Ganoderma Lucidum. Over time, as they created more products, many of them are with this ingredient.

Ganoderma Lucidum is also known as Lingzhi Mushroom. It is nothing new, and has been used in traditional eastern medicine for centuries.

It is a large mushroom with a glossy exterior and a woody texture. It has been long promoted in Asian countries for health and longevity.

There are claims of Lingzhi having anti-cancer effect, anti-oxidation effects, insulin resistance, restoring vitality, and more. At the same time, there have been side effects such as upset stomach, nose bleed, dry mouth, dizziness, dry throat, nausea, itchiness and vomiting.

Also, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are cautioned against using it. This is because there have been reports of general discomfort, palpitations, fatigue and other symptoms.

In addition, users are cautioned that there can be interaction with a variety of medications. There can be possible toxic and dangerous effects.

I currently live in Asia. I have heard of all the benefits of Lingzhi. Been to Eastern medicinal stores, and have seen them selling it in raw form or manufactured versions.

It is highly praised. And sought after. But even then, the people in Asia do not consume it with such regularity. Like any eastern medicine ingredient, we take it when we need it.

As for all the claims of being anti-cancer, antioxidant, insulin resistance, and so forth, do take note that there has not been any scientific proof of that. If there is, don’t you think Asians would have already consumed this regularly?

Plus, this claim that it can help with the insulin. If such a thing is possible, I would be the first to take it. I have diabetes, and I have been searching for a natural way to reduce it. Better still, even cure it.

But I have never heard of Lingzhi being able to do that. There is no proof of that. Furthermore, the eastern medicine doctors that I have consulted about ANY herbal treatment to ease or cure diabetes told me there is none at this point of time.

Again, just like the Beverages range, many of the above products include Ganoderma Lucidum.

It seems Organo Gold is attempting to extend their range of products. Now, they have personal care products starting with the two below.

• G3 Beauty Soap
• OG Smile

To me, Ganoderma Lucidum, or Lingzhi as we call it here, is for consumption. It works by being consumed, and working within our body.

So, why are these products that are used externally with Lingzhi? How is a user to benefit from this external application? Think about this.

On their website, they have a Personalized Business Tool section where you can have access to business tools like creating a personalized brochure, business card or signages.

In addition, they have a section called OG Academy. It claims to provide you all the training you need to be successful doing this as a business.

If you are joining Organo Gold with the intent to make money, then you must know that you need to join as an associate. You will have to buy their products or packs to qualify. So that when you recruit people to join, and they buy the products or packs, you will earn a commission.

But can you really make a living from this? Read the Problems section below to find out.

There is a Help Desk option on their website. This has a knowledge base where you can find answers. There is also an option to send a support ticket if you have a question that is not answered in the knowledge base.

• Good coffee – tasty and aromatic

There are many people who tried the coffee and loved the taste. They shared about this on the Internet. Some of the descriptions about the coffee were tasty, smooth, rich, flavorful, and more.

Although it is instant coffee, one user said it tasted like the coffee you get at cafes. Not at all like the instant coffee sold at supermarkets.

• This is MLM!
• 88% of distributors earn $0 to $599 (a year)
• Organic status unverified
• Health benefits not proven

It is the annualized average earnings in 2019. And as you can see, 88% of the distributors earned $0 to $599 a year.

This is why I dislike MLM. Most people will not earn enough. Not enough to replace their salaries. And definitely not enough to even cover the operating costs to do the ‘business’.

VERDICT: Legit products But with MLM Scam

It is a legit business, and they have products being offered. Although, I am still questioning the use of Ganoderma. Especially being from Asia, I practice the proper use of eastern medicine remedies. For example, using a certain herbal remedy only when you need it.

Sure, there are tonics. But even then, those are not taken every day. I have witnessed people having nose bleeds from taking tonics too often. With eastern medicine, take when necessary. And if it is for health benefits, then take in moderation.

Not a Business

I have discussed the red flags in the above Problems sections. One of the major issues I have is that this is MLM. As said, you will end up recruiting for another person’s business. You should actually be growing and starting your own business.

In addition, take note of the point that most people doing MLM do not make enough money. if you are looking to create a side income that will become your full time income, then this is not it.

What Do I Recommend?

If you are doing well with networking marketing, and looking for a new range of products to sell, then sure. Go ahead and try this. Or if you are keen on network marketing, then try Organo Gold.

But if you are really serious about starting and growing your own business, then I recommend something else. It is called affiliate marketing.

There are many courses out there that are teaching how to make money with affiliate marketing. And it is no wonder. Affiliate marketing is worth more than $12 billion worldwide and the amount is growing.

Affiliate marketing is simply creating a blog and recommending products. When people buy a product, you earn a commission. You do not have to deal with inventory, shipping or customer complaints.
